Meaning:

to matter, to count (passively; see example sentence #2), to count on sth.

 

Pronunciation:

 

Example sentences:

Nem számít, hogy mi volt régen, az számít, hogy mi van most.

Not matters, that what was long-time-ago, that matters, that what is now.

It doesn’t matter what happened before; only the present matters.

 

Az is számíthat munkának, amit szeretsz csinálni.

That too count-can work-as, which like-you to-make.

What you like doing can count as work too.

 

Számítok rá, hogy jössz este.

Count-I onto-it, that come-you tonight.

I count on you coming tonight.
